2nd Wedding Anniversary Gift
Posted by Colleen on 10th Feb 2017
A wedding anniversary is special. It celebrates your continuous love for each other and gives you the chance to renew your commitment every year through little acts of love, spending time with one another and reflecting on your life together as a couple. Something that I did not know about, until after my husband and I had been married for a few years, is the list of traditional themed gift ideas for each anniversary. (See chart below) It is a list that was created by etiquette expert, Emily Post, in the early 1920s and has been updated through the years. What I really love about the anniversary themes is that there is a lot of room to be creative. For example, for your first wedding anniversary, how about purchasing "paper" tickets for a local concert or sports game. For your second anniversary, the gift of cotton, a cotton handkerchief with an embroidered "I love you" message or the date of your anniversary is sweet. The handkerchief shown below is one that a recent customer created for her husband. Your third anniversary, the gift of leather, could be horseback riding lessons (think leather strap!) Keeping to this traditional themed anniversary list can be fun, romantic and gives you a great place to start when you are stuck for ideas.
Happy Anniversary!
